Lesson 1: In today's lesson me and my partner completed our Vox Pop. The questions we asked focused around our idea and were designed to get our audiences opinion on our idea from what they liked to what they thought we could improve on. The feedback we got was so helpful and has defiantly influenced our work in such a away that we want our product to look realistic and appeal to them. Lesson 2: In this lesson me and my partner focused on finishing off our treatment! Click the following link to view our treatment -http://kalkidanbrook7.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/treatment.html
Lesson 3: Today me and my partner started our shooting script. It was difficult because we didn't realise how different it is to planning a film! So many different shot types, angles and movement have to be used to shoot one action! Plus we had to consider the tempo of our music and how the shots would fit in and how it would look visually but at the same time consider how our artist Kim King is being branded etc. It was hard but once we got the hang of it, it started to become easier .
Lesson 4: In today's lesson me and my partner spent time discussing how our digipak and magazine advert would look. We had so many ideas but then we decided we would carry a theme across all three of our products in order to create familiarity and connote our artists brand effectively. This idea was influenced by Rihanna who in all of her products carried on the theme of the colour red which connoted danger and love. So me and my partner decided we would continuously use the colour palette of Red ( for the rose, her lips and her nails) which connotes love and how during she is. Also, White and Black ( for setting and clothing) which connotes her innocence, purity as well as classy she is. Additionally, in terms of what we want it to look like we did a lot of research and pulled together some images which have inspired our idea for the digipak and magazine advert.
This is Ciara's CD cover. In our music video we have used the location of a bedroom and in this location the artist lays on her bed looking up into the camera. So this image is very similar to what is in our product. We liked how she hasn't revealed any of her body which connotes how she respects her body but at the same time it's teasing and sexy. This is conventional of female RnB artists because they are known to uphold this sexy but fierce image in order to appeal to the male audience in particular. We also loved how wild her hair was and the smokey eye make up which connotes how she has an edge to her. Lastly we really liked the typography used for her name. It's like she's signed it herself which I think adds a personal touch to the cover and it makes the audience feel special because it's like they have a signed version. Also the linking of the letters connotes how she is classy as the typography is elegant and from the heart. Overall this has defiantly inspired our idea for our magazine advert in particular but we are going to be toning down the sexiness. So instead of her being nude our artist will be wearing a baggy white t shirt and holding a red rose looking into the camera seductively.
This is Mariah Carey's CD cover! Me and my partner loved how the three images connotes her playful and innocent side. This is further connoted by the white background and white costume which connotes her purity. It's simple but really effective. We really like how the wind is blowing in her hair, we want to incorporate this technique into our digipak, as it's quite dramatic and diva like. Overall, this has influenced our work as we love the use of the white background and will be using this idea for the three panels within our digipak. We will be obviously changing it, so the costume will be a glamorous dress. The costume will be white so it can contrast with the red lips, nails and rose.
